Captain Jack Sparrow must have found the buried treasure, after all! Rum Diary costars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got engaged "a while ago," a pal confirmed to Us Weekly, but the 27-year-old actress hasn't been wearing her ring until recently.
On Monday, Jan. 27, Heard was spotted cheering on her man at a private charity event at Servite High School in Anaheim, Calif. with the giant diamond sparkling from the audience. Depp, 50, gave a surprise performance on a celebrity rocker lineup that featured Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, and Steven Tyler.
The couple was spotted the evening before at a Grammys after-party hosted by Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl looking extra affectionate.
"The two of them looked so happy together," a source told Us. "They walked in holding hands and [Depp] led her through the restaurant."
Before Heard, Depp, 50, was in a 14-year relationship with French actress Vanessa Paradis, with whom he shares two children, daughter Lily-Rose, 14, and son Jack, 11.
Following a long, private estrangement, the never-married couple announced their split in spring 2012; Depp and Heard quietly stepped out as a couple shortly thereafter. Although she never got a rock of her own, Paradis, 41, doesn't seem to resent her famed ex — or his sudden engagement — in the slightest.
"Vanessa wished him happiness," a pal of the star told Us Weekly. "No drama."
