A contestant on the upcoming season of ABC's The Bachelorette is in a medically induced coma following a paragliding accident on Sunday, April 20. Eric Hill, a potential match for Bachelor alum Andi Dorfman, was seriously injured in Utah when his parachute collapsed, sending him careening into a hillside, United Fire Authority Battalion Chief Brian Anderton tells Us Weekly.

"Due to the slope of the hill, we had a difficult time getting the patient down, so we called in a technical rescue team and some technical medical specialists," Anderton says. Hill was then transported by helicopter to a local hospital in critical condition.

ABC has not announced the names of Dorfman's suitors, but noted Bachelor/Bachelorette blogger Reality Steve says Hill is indeed one of the contestants. He notes, however, that the accident did not happen on the show; Hill had apparently already been eliminated at the time of his injury.

A note on Hill's official Facebook page, Go With Eric, The Global Odyssey — where he has been documenting his quest to visit every country in the world in record time — confirms that he is in a coma. "Things are not looking good right now," the message reads. "Please, all across the world, even if you're not a praying person, please pray for him. He needs your prayers more than ever."
