The past year was a big one for celebrity engagements. At one end of the spectrum, Carey Mulligan and Mumford & Sons' Marcus Mumford got engaged after just five months of dating; contrarily, KISS rocker Gene Simmons finally proposed to Shannon Tweed after 28 years together.
