Days before she was found facedown and unconscious in a filled bathtub, the 21-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and late Grammy winner Houston had gotten into a fight with her husband Nick Gordon, a source tells Us. After the Jan. 23 argument, Gordon moved out of their suburban Atlanta home.

“She was depressed and very upset,” an insider explains.

The tiff with Gordon wasn’t the only drama Brown was dealing with, either. A source tells Us that the anniversary of her mother’s 2012 death is a troubling time, too.

“Whitney’s death hit her harder than anyone will ever know,” the insider says. Brown, whose life-threatening emergency came just days before the anniversary of her mom’s own drowning on Feb. 11, had been mourning Houston just five days before being hospitalized. On Jan. 26, Brown wrote on Twitter: “Miss you mommy…SOmuch…loving you more every sec. #Anniversary!”

After being discovered in the tub by Gordon at their Atlanta home, Brown, who had been without oxygen for an unknown time, was rushed to nearby North Fulton hospital and placed in an induced coma on a ventilator. At the time, Lisa Holland of Roswell, Ga., police told Us that “there were no drugs out in the open” found at her home.

With the help of Tyler Perry’s private jet, Brown’s dad Bobby Brown rushed to her side and, along with the rest of her family, told Us in a statement on Feb. 2 that “Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life.”

Later that afternoon, CNN reported that Brown had opened and closed her eyes a few times. However, doctors reportedly told the family not to read too much into the movement.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3,CNN and ABC News reported that Brown had been moved from North Fulton hospital. CNN cited sources saying she was at Emory University hospital in Atlanta but that she remained in critical condition.

In a statement to Us on Feb. 3, Bobby Brown’s lawyer Christopher Brown revealed they are “investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina.” Brown’s attorney also noted that “Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.”
