During an appearance on the podcast Dentists Implants and Worms on Friday, June 24, Randy — who makes a living as a dentist — spoke candidly about how Chelsea has tired of reality TV fame.

Asked if Chelsea, 24, would entertain the idea of a Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica–style spin-off show once she marries her fiancé, Cole DeBoer, in October, Randy replied, “I believe she probably wouldn’t want to do that.”

“She’s ready to quit [Teen Mom 2],” he added. “I don’t think I’m supposed to say that. If the series ends, she’s fine with it.”

Randy, who praised Chelsea as “one of the best role models on the series” during his Friday interview, went on to say that the mom of Aubree, 6, has remained with the show for so long (it premiered in 2011 and just wrapped its 7th season earlier this month) because it has been “financially lucrative.”

“She’s 24 and she has a house,” the proud dad said of the 16 & Pregnant alum. “That’s why she’s stuck with it. She’s doing well, and Aubree’s all set as far as college money.”

While appearing on TM2 has resulted in financial gain, Chelsea will not monetize her future nuptials to DeBoer. Randy recounted the MTV personality’s fight with producers to keep her walk down the aisle off-air.

“Chelsea’s getting married in October … she drew the line [on filming the wedding],” he explained. “She won’t let them tape it. That was a lot of fighting back and forth. They certainly wanted it.”

Randy said that MTV offered to pay for the ceremony if they were allowed to film it, but Chelsea declined.

“She doesn’t want it taped; she doesn’t want it on TV,” he continued. “She doesn’t need it paid for. I was very proud that she grew the balls to say no. They’ll go to the bachelorette party and stuff [to film], but for the wedding she agreed that she’ll send a bunch of professional still photos [to them to use for the show].”

During the Teen Mom 2 reunion, Chelsea also said that she would not allow MTV at her wedding because “it just didn't feel right just for us to have it aired to millions of people.” (She did the same with her engagement to DeBoer — MTV wasn’t there, but she gave them personal photos to use on the show.)

As previously reported, Chelsea got engaged to DeBoer last November. Prior to that, she dated ex Adam Lind (with whom she shares her daughter) on and off since 2009.
