Hashtag blessed. Ciara and her boyfriend, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, are officially set to tie the knot, a rep for the “Love Sex Magic” singer confirmed to Us Weekly on Friday, March 11.
“Following Paris Fashion Week, Russell surprised Ciara with a surprise holiday,” the rep tells Us. “She was shocked when they landed in the Seychelles at the exclusive resort North Island. The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancé at the romantic, private Honeymoon Beach, located on North Island.”
Wilson and Ciara both took to social media to share the good news.
“She said Yes!!!” Wilson, 27, captioned a sweet video of the pair beaming post-proposal. “Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling… #TrueLove @Ciara.”
In the short clip, the pair appear to be lounging at home in a candlelit room, and the “Goodies” singer can hardly contain her glee as she repeatedly giggles and covers her mouth with her left hand, flashing her impressive engagement ring at the camera.
The R&B crooner later reposted the video via Twitter with kind words for her love of nearly a year.
“God Is Good!” she wrote. “Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You are Heaven Sent. I’m Looking Forward To Spending Forever With You.”
The couple, who were first linked at NBC’s I Can Do That wrap party last April, initially played coy about their relationship, but later went public in July, vocally vowing to abstain from sex until marriage. (The “1, 2 Step” singer was previously engaged to rapper Future, and shares a 21-month-old son with him. The pair called it quits on their engagement in August 2014.)
When Future took to Twitter to slam his ex over visitation rights with Future Jr. in January, Ciara remained silent on the matter, instead choosing to share photos of herself and Wilson visiting sick patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
“Cody, It Felt So Good To Hear You Saying You’re Getting Better! Go Champ Go!” Ciara captioned an Instagram pic of a patient on Tuesday, January 5. “@DangeRussWilson and I Are Rooting For You!! @seattlechildrens #strongagainstcancer.” Ciara and Wilson both wore masks and hospital gowns, and appeared to be in good spirits during the special outing.
