"She's awesome," Dylan, 23, told Us of the Oscar-winning actress, 39. "They've been away for months working together in South Africa, so I haven't seen much of either of them. She's great and they're amazing together. As long as my dad's happy, I'm happy for both of them."
Dylan explained what makes Theron so fantastic. "Well, she's brilliant for one thing," the model mused to Us, "and she's the only woman since my mom [Robin Wright] who can shut my dad up. The only woman! That is a f---ing challenge so... She's a powerhouse."
The couple, who were first confirmed to be dating in January, are in Theron's native South Africa to shoot the drama The Last Face. (Theron is starring in the film directed by Penn.)
"Sean is revitalized with Charlize," one source told Us this past summer, adding that they see marriage in their future — along with children. Theron is already mom to her adopted son Jackson, 3, while Penn is father to Dylan and Hopper, 21, whom he shares with Wright. Penn was famously married to Madonna from 1985 to 1989. He went on to marry Wright in 1996 and the two divorced in 2010. The House of Cards actress, 47, is currently engaged to actor Ben Foster.
As for Dylan's ideal man? "Funny, smart," she told Us Tuesday. "I really don't go off looks but I am into height. I would like them to be a little taller than me. They don't need a good body or anything. I always look at hands or someone's back. If a guy has good hands I'm all about it. Veiny, big hands."
