Talk about a nail-biter! As the 2016 presidential election results were too close to call, and Donald Trump‘s chances of occupying into the White House became a real possibility, Democratic-leaning Hollywood celebs took to Twitter to share their reactions — and pondered a move north to Canada.
“Looking for a great realtor in Canada,” tweeted Frozen star Josh Gad, while Pitch Perfect‘s Brittany Snow noted, “In other related news: Flights to Canada are really cheap.”
Singer Lily Allen joked that “Canada need to think about building a wall rn.”
As state projections came in, Kathy Griffin posted a photo with Sharon Stone, writing, “Freaking out w Stoney! At our ‘election headquarters’ @Sharonstone #electionnight #imwithher #women #vote #LGBTQ”
Mindy Kaling nervously tweeted, “I hate suspense,” while Chrissy Teigen wrote that she was “trembling,” adding, “Every time the results music comes on an there’s another projected winner, I think of Black Mirror/Hunger Games.”
“The anticipation of the extreme relief I will feel a few hours from now is the only thing stopping my heart from exploding,” the supermodel added.
Bachelor host Chris Harrison wrote, “You guys thought I was kidding when I said this is the most dramatic election ever! I never kid about drama.”
Veteran newsman Dan Rather tweeted, “The difference between ‘too close to call’ and ‘too early to call’ is the difference between looking for a Xanas and looking for a beer.”
Khloé Kardashian kicked off the night urging calm, tweeting, “I guess either way you look at it, history will be made tonight. Spread love. Not hate!”
But the reality star later added, “It shouldn’t be this close.”
