Doctor's orders! Ellen Pompeo took on the persona of her Grey's Anatomy character Dr. Meredith Grey for a sweet and unexpected social media moment with Taylor Swift.
The ABC actress, 45, reached out to Swift, 25, via Instagram this week, after the singer shared a photo of a deep cat scratch on her leg.
"GREAT WORK MEREDITH," Swift wrote of the shot, addressing her cat Meredith Grey, named after Pompeo's Grey's Anatomy character. "I WAS JUST TRYING TO LOVE YOU AND NOW YOU OWE ME 40 MILLION DOLLARS."
Responding directly to Swift, Pompeo commented on the "Style" performer's Instagram, "This is awkward because my namesake did this but as your doctor please keep that scratch clean! Yours truly, the real Dr. Grey."
Swift, whose second cat is named Olivia Benson after Mariska Hargitay's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit character, had a bit of a fangirl moment with Pompeo last month. The actress posed for a photo with Hargitay, and the SVU star tweeted it at Swift, writing, "This one goes out to @TaylorSwift13 @taylorswift #CatsOutOfTheBag #NFL #NationalFelineLeague #MeowMeow #CatsMeow."
Swift was ecstatic with the photo, responding simply, "OH. MY. GOD."
