This one’s for you, Tay! While New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks fans were keeping up with Twitter and Instagram for Super Bowl XLIX reactions, Taylor Swift was glued to her social media pages for an entirely different reason.
Attending the big game in Glendale, Ariz., after presenting at the Jan. 31 NFL Honors event, Mariska Hargitay met up with fellow TV star Ellen Pompeo, and commemorated their run-in with a pic she promptly posted to social media.
But this wasn’t any old pic: Hargitay and Pomepo posed for the snap just for Swift, who famously named her two cats after Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey, the characters Hargitay, 51, and Pompeo, 45, portray on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Grey’s Anatomy, respectively.
“This one goes out to @TaylorSwift13 @taylorswift #CatsOutOfTheBag #NFL #NationalFelineLeague #MeowMeow #CatsMeow,” Hargitay Instagrammed Sunday.
Less than an hour later, Swift, 25, got the message loud and clear. “OH. MY. GOD.,” the “Blank Space” singer tweeted in response to the photo, which Pompeo confirmed was done for Swift — and the “fan girls, of course.”
Sunday’s social media shout-out was just one way Hargitay paid back Swift for her loyal support of Law & Order. In September 2014, Hargitay gifted Swift with a personalized collar for Olivia, whom she adopted three months earlier. “When she named her cat, I had so much going on. I was out of town, and when things calmed down, I thought it warranted a real something [special]. That’s so sweet and too fabulous,” Hargitay told Us of the gift.
