Taylor Swift may have seven Grammys and 15 American Music Awards to her name, but when it comes to TV, she's just like Us: She often can't resist a Law & Order: Special Victims Unit marathon. In fact, Swift's passion for the sex crimes drama starring Mariska Hargitay is so strong that she named her cat after Hargitay's fan favorite character, Olivia Benson.
To celebrate Swift's new furry friend — whom the singer introduced via Instagram in June 2014 — Hargitay, 50, gifted the singer with an engraved collar in the shape of a heart.
In September, Hargitay posted an Instagram snap of herself wearing the white collar she had engraved with Swift's pet's name, and attached a slew of clever hashtags to the note, including "#MeowliviaBenson" "#PurrfectName" "ThisCollarNeedsACat" and "OliviaBensonPetDectective."
During an interview promoting the 16th season premiere of SVU in New York City, Hargitay told Us Weekly she thought long and hard about the best way to thank Swift for the gesture. "When she named her cat, I had so much going on. I was out of town, and when things calmed down, I thought it warranted a real something [special]. That's so sweet and too fabulous," Hargitay told Us.
Swift, 24, had a chance to bond with Hargitay over the summer at an August concert featuring their mutual friend, Ingrid Michaelson, in New York City. "Taylor is so great — beautiful, girly and lovely," SVU's star said of Swift. The women hit it off so well at the concert that after the show, Swift offered to give Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, a ride home. "She's a huge fan of the show and was so gracious. When we met, I knew I had to do something great [to repay her]," the actress said.
