It keeps getting worse for Emile Hirsch. The actor has been charged with felony assault after allegedly putting a woman in a chokehold during the Sundance Film Festival last month, the Associated Press reports.
As previously reported, the 29-year-old star got physical with a female film executive at TAO nightclub in Park City, Utah on Sunday, Jan. 25. An insider told Us Weekly at the time that the "executive was looking into pressing charges against Emile" and the incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. The alleged victim is Paramount exec Dani Bernfeld.
Authorities now tell AP that the woman blacked out during the incident and two people had to pull Hirsch off of her. At the scene, the Into the Wild actor admitted to police that he was intoxicated and didn't know the woman personally.
Hirsch was at Sundance to promote his upcoming movie Ten Thousand Saints, which also stars Hailee Steinfeld and Ethan Hawke. In November 2013, he welcomed son Valor, now 14 months, with an ex-girlfriend.
