Heidi Klum and Seal are splitting after seven years together.

In a joint statement to Us Weekly they confirm: "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."

The couple have three biological children, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2, plus Klum's 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Leni, whom Seal adopted in 2009.

On Saturday, TMZ reported that Klum and Seal were heading for a divorce, and that Klum would be filing the papers citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split.

A friend of the couple told Us, "They've had a very rough road lately. They're either madly in love or having crazy fights."

40okay so listen here John Vucenich, I don't care how long ago you wrote this I have a serious problem with you saying "tainted meat" to describe black people. That is so racist and you need to learn how to be respectful of all races and to try to keep your racial prejudices to yourself. Oh on another not my parents are a mixed couple and they are still happily together after 25 years so SUCK IT! btw I loved Seal and Heidi together!
As we all know what they say, its not once you go black you can't go back or don't go back because most caucasians won't date tainted meat like Heidi, but the real line is once you go black you're a single mom. That's the moral of the story here unfortunately. Time and time again you see mixed babies or all black babies with no dad in sight.
I'm pretty sure there were red flags along the way.....as there is with any other downfall...Why did they keep making babies.

I'm with Val.They really seemed like a happy family and very much in love and it's sad to hear they are seperating. I really thought they were one of the few Hollywood couples who would go the distance.My heart and prayers go out to them and their kids.

This is really sad and shocking. I feel badly for their children. I hope that this is just a separation trial and that they can go some to intense therapy and make it. They're so good together.
