It’s official! Kaitlin Doubleday is a married woman. On Friday, May 6, the Empire actress tied the knot with her fiancé, Devin Lucien, in Big Sur, California.
“I’m excited to be married to [Devin],” Doubleday, 31, who walked down the aisle in a stunning Mark Zunino gown, tells Us Weekly exclusively. “I just want to have fun and go on our honeymoon and enjoy our home and have fun with our friends and not be thinking about planning a wedding. I’m really excited about that.”
The lovebirds — who wrote their own vows for Friday’s ceremony — exchanged their I do’s outdoors at Ventana Big Sur in front of 140 of their closest friends and family members, with a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop.
The wedding was planned by Samantha Hall Events and featured a blush, rose-gold color palette, lots of anemones (Doubleday’s favorite flower) and gold and lucite furniture by One True Love Vintage Rentals. Guests sipped on a variety of wines by Winc wines.
The actress and the DJ got engaged in Paris in May 2015 after about two and a half years of dating. At the time, Doubleday took to Instagram to show off her massive diamond sparkler. "Cheers!!!!!!!!" she wrote at the time. "To the most memorable night of my life thus far."
“I trusted him more than I’ve ever trusted anyone. And I was like, ‘Wow, this feels so different than any other relationship I’ve ever been in,’” the blonde beauty gushes to Us of her new hubby. “Which I think is how you’re supposed to feel. It was easy. It was exciting and easy from the beginning. I just trusted that we were going to be okay.”
Next up, the newlyweds are preparing to celebrate their nuptials with a romantic honeymoon in Greece.
“I think we both just wanted to same things. To feel very attracted to somebody like that, but also feel very safe and secure,” Doubleday adds to Us of her relationship with Lucien. “I feel like I hadn’t ever felt that way. I feel like all the times I was into a guy, I didn’t feel safe. Devin was the first person where I felt very much in love with him, but it didn’t feel scary.”
