Score one major victory of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

A French court ruled in favor of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Tuesday in their case against French magazine Closer, which rocked royal watchers worldwide last week with the publication of topless photos of the Duchess.

In a decision made Tuesday morning outside Paris, Closer has been handed a slew of demands: It must not print any more copies of its issue featuring William and Kate, 30, and must remove the topless pics from its website; the photos cannot be published in any other magazines or newspapers in France; the photos cannot be sold anywhere else in the world; the photos must be handed over to the Palace by midday Wednesday.

Should Closer attempt to sell or publish the photos again, the magazine will be fined 10,000 euros per incident. The royals will also be paid 2,000 euros for legal fees.

On Monday, French lawyer Aurelien Hammelle argued on behalf of the royals that the "highly intimate" photos, taken during the couple's private holiday in the South of France earlier this month, were a "grotesque breach of privacy."

"She's a young woman, not an object," Hammelle added. He also pointed out that the snapshots were taken within days of the 15th anniversary of the paparazzi-related death of William's beloved mother, Princess Diana.
