Better luck next time, Kevin Bacon. His last name may suggest otherwise, but Bacon isn’t all that good at competitive eating contests. The Footloose actor, 57, accepted 7-year-old Ethan’s challenge to see who could eat the most ice cream in six seconds. The winner would nab bragging rights while the loser would fork over a $6 donation to the Give Kids the World charity.
“Ethan here thinks that he can eat more ice cream than me, so he’s challenged me to a contest. Why six seconds and six dollars? You probably heard that you can connect two people, like me and Ethan, in six steps or less,” Bacon explained during his July 27 visit to Give Kids the World Village, a not-for-profit camp for critically ill kids. “That means that we’re all really connected to the kids who come here to Give Kids the World.”
With other children and their families looking on, Bacon took out his spoon and prepared to dig in, while Ethan opted for a much more drastic approach. The youngster chose to go caveman style — no utensils necessary.
“I never had a chance!” Bacon moaned after being dissed by dessert king Ethan.
