Sean “Diddy” Combs’ prison release date has been pushed back once again after his reported lavish lifestyle behind bars was revealed.
According to Bureau of Prisons (BOP) records viewed by Us, the disgraced rapper, 56, is scheduled to be released from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey on March 2, 2028.
His release date was previously listed as January 21, 2028.
“For privacy, safety and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including reasons for a change in release date,” the BOP told People, who first reported the news on Wednesday, October 7.
In a statement to Us on Wednesday, a spokesperson for Diddy shared, “We are never given any explanation for how the BOP calculates or adjusts projected release dates, so we cannot speak to the reason for any change.”
The statement continued, “Sean remains focused on serving his time, awaiting the decision on his appeal and looking forward to spending quality time with his family when he returns home.”
Earlier this month, a report surfaced that Diddy was heading back into the Special Housing Unit — otherwise known as solitary confinement — as he continues his prison sentence amid claims he was living a pampered lifestyle while incarcerated. (While a specific reason for the move — and change of release date — has not been publicly revealed.)
According to NBC News, Diddy has spent thousands of dollars a month to bring portions of his once-lavish lifestyle to prison, with individuals cooking and cleaning for him. There are also men who reportedly make his bed, do his laundry and provide Chinese-style massages, per the exposé.
NBC News also reported via sources that Diddy uses contraband cellphones to scroll Instagram and scan sexually explicit photos that an old girlfriend sends him.
A spokesperson for Diddy, however, downplayed the reporting of his prison life, including allegations that he has a secret stash of premium liquor behind bars.
“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the spokesperson shared with NBC News. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”
Diddy is currently serving a four-year sentence following his conviction on two counts of transportation for prostitution in July 2025. He began serving his 50-month sentence two months later.
Throughout the highly publicized trial, Diddy maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty. His legal team has appealed the case and is awaiting a decision from a judge.
“He’s focused on the appeal and looking back at his life and trying to figure out ways to improve and be a better person,” Diddy’s lawyer Juda Engelmayer said in a June Us cover story. “He’s become like a paralegal, if not a lawyer already. My experience [is that] clients who are deeply involved in their cases are the ones who get further.”
