Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly returning to solitary confinement as he continues his prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix.
TMZ reported on Thursday, October 1, that the disgraced rapper, 56, is heading back into the Special Housing Unit. (Us has reached out to Diddy’s team for comment.)
The move comes after a report surfaced claiming Diddy was living a pampered life at the low-security correctional facility in southern New Jersey.
According to NBC News, Diddy spent thousands of dollars a month to bring his lavish lifestyle to prison, with individuals cooking and cleaning for him. There are also men who make his bed, do his laundry and provide Chinese-style massages, according to the exposé.
NBC News also reported that Diddy uses contraband cellphones to scroll Instagram and scan sexually explicit photos that an old girlfriend sends him.
A spokesperson for Diddy, however, downplayed the details of his prison life, including allegations that he has a secret stash of premium liquor.
“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the spokesperson shared with NBC News. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”
A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson also said the agency does not comment on inmates’ conditions due to privacy, safety and security reasons. At the same time, the spokesperson said in a statement, “Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cellphones, narcotics and weapons, remains a constant challenge, and we continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities.”
Diddy is currently serving a four-year sentence following his conviction on two counts of transportation for prostitution in July 2025. He began serving his 50-month sentence two months later.
During his highly publicized trial, Diddy maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty. His legal team has appealed the case and is awaiting a decision from a judge.
“He’s focused on the appeal and looking back at his life and trying to figure out ways to improve and be a better person,” Diddy’s lawyer Juda Engelmayer said in a June Us cover story. “He’s become like a paralegal, if not a lawyer already. My experience [is that] clients who are deeply involved in their cases are the ones who get further.”
Online records viewed by Us in August show that Diddy is now eligible for release on February 20, 2028.
