Out of the spotlight and into a bridesmaid dress! Both Lauren Conrad and Sarah Jessica Parker played supporting roles this past weekend, letting their friends shine as brides while they served as bridesmaids.
Conrad, 28, wore a simple sheath for the weekend wedding of her pal Maura McManus in Ojai, Calif. The author and fashion designer, who is expected to say "I do" to her fiancé William Tell later this year, put the focus on McManus on her special day.
"My bestie @mauramcmanus is getting married today and I'm pretty sure no bride has ever looked so beautiful!" Conrad wrote, with a picture of McManus shared via Instagram. Joined by longtime friends Lo Bosworth and Jilly Hendrix, Conrad looked beautiful in the neutral-toned sleeveless gown.
She accessorized the floor-length number with a pair of classic Ray-Ban sunglasses, and a black chain-link quilted Chanel purse.
While Conrad's bridesmaid dress was a muted beige, fellow fashion plate Parker, 49, slipped into a bright frock for her friend and former Sex and the City assistant Melinda Relyea's East Coast nuptials in Greenwich, Conn.
The actress and her co-bridesmaids were dressed in floor-length fuchsia gowns. Parker shared a peek at her dress via Instagram before the wedding, showing the strapless number hanging from a ceiling light fixture. "It's wedding day for Melinda! My bridesmaid dress, stretching, releasing wrinkles and then a quick disco nap before heading towards church and a very joyous day and night," she wrote.
In a frustratingly un-Carrie-like move, Parker committed to keeping the attention off of herself, choosing not to share a photo of herself wearing the dress.
