Well, that's not very funny.

Comic actor Michael McKean is in the hospital after getting hit by a car in Manhattan on Tuesday, his rep confirmed to E! News.

The 64-year-old -- who has starred in This Is Spinal Tap and other Christopher Guest comedies -- broke his leg, suffered cuts and bruises and is now in stable condition in an NYC hospital, the Daily News reports.

McKean was walking in the Upper West Side in NYC around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon when he was hit. His wife, actress Annette O'Toole, is flying in from Los Angeles to be with him.

Because of the injury, McKean had to miss performing in Broadway play The Best Man.

"It's the first time he will have ever missed a curtain in his entire life," his rep said. "His understudy has never gone on in 40-plus years."

McKean's many credits include numerous TV appearances on Castle, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Happy Endings, Homeland and Law & Order: SVU.
