Pregnant Jessica Simpson: I Look Like "A Big Blob"

When Jessica Simpson tunes in for the premiere of NBC's Fashion Star March 13, her body won't look anything like it does now.

"I wasn't pregnant when we shot it. It will be amazing to see myself with a waistline," the 31-year-old said during a conference call Thursday. "I'll be like a big blob sitting on the couch watching myself thin."
Simpson will mentor 14 contestants alongside fellow fashion designers Nicole Richie, 30, and John Varvatos; supermodel Elle Macpherson, 47, will host.

"Teaming up with this show was a perfect fit," Simpson said. "I couldn't turn it down because I felt like it was great for my collection, but it was also important for me to talk to these up-and-coming designers and mentor them and kind of show them the ropes and really try to lead them in the right direction."

Now that she's expecting her first child with fiance Eric Johnson, Simpson said she's thinking of creating a maternity line for the Jessica Simpson Collection.

"The point of launching a maternity line, for me, is to do something different," Simpson explained. "I'm not buying any maternity clothes. I'm wearing all clothes that come in bigger sizes. I really want to make a maternity line that's comfortable, but really stylish for people, because I believe that we all deserve to feel good and look good."

18shes short, dosent help. 2) shes already got HUGE boobs which are ridiclously overinflated now that shes preganant and make her look ginormous!... also, shes playing this wrong by "not" wearing maternity clothes. theyre not helping to flatter her body shape... people are SO used to pin thin celebs that when one gains 30 pounds, they think theyre fat, snacking like a "fat pig" ect. seriously, relax. her and her baby, im sure, have great care, and they are both going to be fine... either way, shes pregnant. shes still cute, and im happy for her..

Based on what I've seen her wear during her own pregnancy, I doubt a maternity line should be attempted.

Jessica's half right. She looks more like a blimp than a blob. She should've had more self control than to eat all that excess sugar, salt, and fat that she's been bragging about since becoming pregnant. As if she wasn't fat enough before the pregnancy.

She's short, so any extra weight is going to look like twice as much on her. However, it might be a good idea to lay off the buttered Pop-Tarts. That's just common sense.
@Tammy you are so right but some of those women couldn't help it due to complications though 25-35 is the guideline for a single pregnancy and 37-54 is for twins look at Mariah Carey she gained 82 while pregnant with her twins but that was due to a double hernia gestational diabetes toximia/pre-eclampsia and some other complications and she had to deliver at 35 weeks and the twins were in the nicu for 2 weeks while she also stayed in the hospital for medical reasons. @Bonnie some women try to be healthy during pregnancy but they end up with complications but them and their babies end up healthy in the end stop being so critical. my mom who's about the same height as Jessica gained 65lbs when she was pregnant with me 27-28 years ago and didn't have any of those issues though she had others and I turned out perfectly healthy 7lbs 11oz 19 5/8's inches long. what's saying Jess's baby won't let's weight and see she's one of those women who is more beautiful while pregnant
Bonnie would you like to comment on the other celebs that have gained significant amounts of weight while pregnant.. Its time people left Jessica alone.. numerous women gain weight & far above 25-30 lbs. her sister gained 52.. Pink gained 70, Kate Hudson 70-80, Halle Berry so many & not celebs alone.. Normal women in normal lives gain much more then 25 -30 i the real world..

im sorry but can we please stop lying about the fact that she looks pretty while she has gained a great amount of weight while pregnant. I really dont want people to get the wrong impression that what she is doing is healthy for her or her baby. while a woman should gain about 25-30lbs during a healthy pregnancy. Jessica has gained double that amount. She is putting herself and her baby at risk of preeclampsia and gestational diabetes, and we should not be sending the wrong message.

omg! she loooks so beautiful pregnant! shes one of those woman that looks good skinny and looks even more amazing curvy! i love that about her. shes gorgeous in any shape!
I think it's a bad idea for her to design her own maternity line because throughout her pregnancy, she was a hot mess when it comes to fashion. There are/were a lot of stars with a good fashion sense while pregnant (Jessica Alba), and she's not one of them. Her choice of shoes are out of this world!
