Following in her daughter’s footsteps. Sarah Palin, like Bristol Palin, is now calling out Lena Dunham amid Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal.
Back in 2014, the Girls actress revealed in her memoir, Not That Kind of Girl, that she touched her younger sister Grace Dunham’s body when the actress was 7. Now, Palin is comparing Dunham to the 19 Kids and Counting star’s controversy, and calling the two situations “obvious double standards.”
“HEY LENA, WHY NOT LAUGH OFF EVERYONE’S SEXUAL ‘EXPERIMENTS’ AS YOU HAUGHTILY ENJOY REWARDS FOR YOUR OWN PERVERSION? YOU PEDOPHILE, YOU,” the former Alaska governor, 51, wrote via Facebook on Thursday, June 4.
“I’m not defending the Duggar boy’s obvious wrongdoing over a decade ago. The main victim in any story like this isn’t the perpetrator, it’s the innocent ones so harmfully affected,” she continued. “I’m not an apologist for any sexual predator, but I’m sickened that the media gives their chosen ones a pass for any behavior as long as they share their leftwing politics.”
She added: “Case in point, they suggest Lena Dunham’s sexual assault on her sibling is cute, and she’s rewarded for it with fame and fortune. Meanwhile, they crucify another, along with an entire family.”
The former Republican vice presidential candidate lashed out at those who are up in arms with the Duggar family, yet Dunham and other “left-winger celebs caught doing awful things” get a pass. “Such obvious double standards applied to equally relevant stories underestimate the wisdom of the public, discredit the press, and spit on the graves of every American who fought and died for the press’s freedom,” she wrote. “I hate for anyone to go through this game liberals are allowed to play, relentlessly attacking on an uneven playing field until a conservative’s career, relationships, and reputation are destroyed.”
Palin posted her lengthy rant just hours after Bristol, 24, slammed the HBO star, 29, on her blog. After Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s sit-down with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly aired on Wednesday, the Dancing With the Stars alum said the “double standards” made her “want to puke.”
Dunham has declined to respond to Sarah and Bristol Palin’s comments.
