Talk about friendly exes! Simon Cowell spent his 54th birthday on Monday, Oct. 7, not with pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman but with ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour, whom he dated for six years until 2008.
The X Factor judge and the Extra correspondent, 38, were spotted getting into a car together after dining out with friends at West Hollywood hotspot Sur, one of the establishments owned by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Lisa Vanderpump. Seymour, a former model, perched herself atop Cowell’s lap to make room for another pal, at which point the TV mogul leaned his head back and covered his eyes.
Of course, this is not the first time the ex-lovebirds have enjoyed each other’s company since splitting five years ago. The two have remained on friendly terms and are occasionally spotted hanging out together in L.A.
Seymour wasn’t the only blast from the past Cowell got on his birthday, though. Also in attendance at the first-time dad-to-be’s celebration was his fellow former American Idol judge Randy Jackson. The ex-costars were seen patting each other affectionately on the shoulder before they went their separate ways.
As Us Weekly exclusively reported in July, Cowell is preparing to welcome his first child with New York socialite Silverman. And though the news came as a surprise at first, the British star is now happily looking forward to fatherhood.
“I genuinely never thought [me being a dad] was going to happen,” he admitted to Ryan Seacrest in September. “Partly because I was scared of who I was going to have kids with…[but] Lauren and I get along really well, and once I got used to the idea, I thought, ‘I think this is going to be very good.'”
Indeed, Cowell told Ellen DeGeneres recently that he’s “happier than [he’s] ever been.” And when asked by Seacrest about his plans with Silverman, he hinted that marriage could be in the couple’s future. “Let’s put it this way,” he said. “I wouldn’t expect her to be a single mother.”
