Exclusive: Source: Madonna and "Jealous" Gwyneth Paltrow Had "Falling Out"

A source close to Madonna, 51, and Gwyneth Paltrow, 37, tells Us Weekly the dear pals, BFFs since 1999, are dunzo.
"They don't speak," says the insider. "I can't tell you exactly why they had the falling out, but Gwyneth can be jealous and competitive."
Although Madonna's rep denies the "breakup," the source says things went downhill slowly for the duo after Madonna split from Guy Ritchie in 2008, leaving "Gwyneth and Madonna with less in common." (Paltrow's been wed to U.K.-born singer Chris Martin since 2003.)
And to be sure, both women have a history of bagging their besties: Madge fell out with Sandra Bernhard around 1991; Paltrow cut ties with Winona Ryder in 1998.

In fact, Paltrow (who once called the singer "like an older sister") hinted at a new feud in May's British Vogue: "I'm having a situation right now with a friend where I'm feeling pretty angry."

A lot of friendships end after a while. No big deal. The only reason that we're hearing about it is that the people involved are famous. Unlike a lot of the posters here, it doesn't make me hate or like them any more than I already did. I like both of their work.
In the scheme of things and what's going on in the world, who really cares about these two and their petty conflicts!

I dont see the big deal about Gwyneth. She seems like the type that feels she is better than everyone as though she is in a class of her own. She comes across like everyman in Hollywood that she has dated is beneath her, and that the woman that date the men she has dated are stupid. Yet Gwyneth you dated them too! That woman is more insecure than she lets on... She is not better than anyone! Most arrogant people are extremely insecure and dont have it all together as they appear to! And she is not that pretty. Hollywood can beautify the ugliest...

I dont think Gwyneth would be jealous of wrinkled Madge. She might be mad because Madge might have tried to seduce Christ Martin. Madonna does have appetite for much younger men.

I have never felt that Madonna is a genuine person. She always comes across as opportunistic. I do not know her and it isn't right of me to judge her but she seems to give off a certain vibe that is less than flattering. Perhaps she is a better person as opposed to what is publically portrayed? Also, I wish she would act with a little more dignity. She is 51. When I was a kid I loved her look but now at 40 even I have to say enough is enough. Age gracefully Madonna- you are starting to look rough.
Too bad they can't work it out. I had a falling out with a friend and it was because she blamed for all sorts of things I never did. How she saw events that happened between us the way she did I'll never know. We never spoke again. Hard to say what these 2 are mad about.
I can't stand Gwyneth's dieting obsession. She's much too thin. I assume she has some sort of eating disorder but she is pretty.
Gwyneth is pretty. Madonna never was. My friend thinks she is but I certainly never have. She's not ugly but I think she has messed herself up now with the surgeries and or botox.
Love Madonna's music... but I don't like how she conducts her personal life. Gwyneth seems like she thinks higher of herself than she ought to. Most people in this country just don't have much of an opinion of her one way or the other. Madonna is an icon that will never be forgotten no matter how raunchy she is.
