The Sundance Film Festival is almost upon us and we all know it isn’t only about amazing films and celebrities trying to earn some indie street cred — it’s also where Hollywood’s elite stars can mingle and party the night away. As festivalgoers prepare to descend on Park City, Utah, Us Weekly has the inside scoop on where all the celebrities will be dining out, cutting loose and what swag they’ll be walking away with below.
Nightlife and Parties
First up, TAO’s pop-up nightclub returns to Sundance with TAO Park City. Last year, celebs such as Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie were turning up (and caught making out!) until the wee hours of the morning. Tequila Don Julio is TAO’s official sponsor, so expect your favorite stars to throw back some tequila shots. Plus, luminous bottles of Moet Nectar Imperial Rose will be available so celebs can sip champagne all night long. TAO will also be home to the Ainsworth Football Viewing Party where celebrity football fanatics can gather for drinks and watch the AFC and NFC championship games on the big screen.
Acura returns as a presenting sponsor of Sundance 2016 and will be hosting celebs, directors and producers for various day to evening activities and parties in this bustling lounge. During the day, LA Public Radio KCRW will spin tunes for festivalgoers who swing by for a snack or to charge up their cell phones. You’re likely to see your favorite celebrities coming and going throughout the week or out front signing the hood of the 2017 Acura NSX super-car display, which will be auctioned to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation via eBay for Charity. Once evening falls, Acura will host a series of exclusive parties for some the of festivals biggest stars. Ryan Reynolds and Keanu Reeves have been spotted celebrating Sundance at the Acura Studio in years past.
While the always eventful 1Oak Sundance pop-up club will certainly be missed, Dream Hotels and Nylon magazine are partnering up to host the Annual Aprés Ski Party at this years festival. This shindig has hosted the likes of Kellan Lutz and always brings in the model and cool kid crowd at Sundance (so don’t be surprised if Zoe Kravitz shows up…).
The Chase Sapphire on Main Lounge is a celeb favorite and hosts a bevy of Sundance’s hottest cast parties that tend to last all night long. This year, it will be home to a number of A-list events including the Manchester By the Sea official premiere party, featuring Oscar nominee (and Manchester’s producer), Matt Damon. Stars such as Zoe Saldana and Mark Ruffalo have been seen mingling with cast-mates and industry bigwigs in this upscale pop-up in years past.
The Stella Artois Filmmaker Lounge is back! Perched atop the Village at The Lift, it will provide festivalgoers and industry insiders a behind-the-scenes look at their respective movies during the day. This year, stars like Adrian Grenier and AnnaLynne McCord will be hosting panels and more celebs will come the lounge for various private premiere after parties at night.
A Sundance staple, the Rock & Reilly’s Park City Lounge returns to Main Street. During the day you can catch a glimpse of your favorite celebs as they meander in to do interviews with the Hollywood Reporter and keep hydrated with a bottle of antioxidant-infused BAI Water. At night, Rock & Reilly’s turns into Bar53 and turns up the party as stars roll through to celebrate! Elizabeth Olsen and January Jones have been spotted here during past festivals.
Eddie Bauer will be hosting its annual Verge Party again where celebs will mix and mingle at this intimate affair. During the day, VIPs always flock to the Eddie Bauer Adventure House to take a break from attending premieres, have a cocktail and browse clothing. Last year, the house was visited by Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke.
John Legend will be attending Sundance this year as the Executive Producer for his new show Underground, which stars Friday Night Lights alum, Jurnee Smollett-Bell. And of course, Legend will be throwing an Underground party to celebrate. He'll be hosting the cast and crew at the VIDA TEQUILA Lounge at David Beavis Gallery in Park City. Fingers crossed he sings for Us!
The Variety & Fandango Sundance Studio presented by Dockers is back and better than ever. On the lineup this year: Casey Affleck, Don Cheadle, Anderson Cooper, Lena Dunham, Chelsea Handler, Armie Hammer, Nick Jonas, John Krasinski and Kristen Stewart. These stars will also be gifted Dockers and Wollrich’s newest items in this luxury lounge after they take their festival portraits.
Musical stars like Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum and R. City will be playing sets in the ASCAP Music Café, and performing for fans and music insiders all festival long.
The IMDb STARmeter awards will honor Bryce Dallas Howard this year during a cocktail party celebrating her work in the entertainment industry. Howard is in Park City premiering her short film, Solemates, that she wrote and directed. "IMDb Asks" will also be streaming celebrity interviews live from The IMDb Studio.
Tequila Don Julio is also sponsoring a few other festival events and can be sipped on at the The WME | IMG Luxury Lounge, the Day One Party, Sundance TV HQ Pre-Party and Sundance Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament. The celebrities battling it out at the poker tables for charity are being kept very hush, hush, but check out UsMagazine.com for all the insider updates!
The Barclaycard Arrival+ presents 364 Main lounge is back with the It's SO Miami Oasis where you can spot celebs such as Kristen Stewart and Nick Jonas stopping by The Wrap's interview studio this year. The stars will pass through to rehydrate with a V8 Bloody Mary, warm up with some Campbell's soup or dine with Adrien Grenier, who is hosting workshops during the day and exclusive dinners at night in the Dell Workshop lounge for his celeb friends.
What about dinner?! Sundance is also a place for world-renowned chefs to showcase their talents. Pop-ups like the Kia Supper Suite by The Church Key will feature specialty Dobel Tequila cocktails and host celeb-filled events such as the Creative Coalition’s Spotlight Initiative Awards Gala where you can dine with celebs such as Lily-Rose Depp and Gabrielle Union. The suite will also host other private cast dinners throughout the festival, but make sure to accessorize accordingly and check out the new Stella & Dot Spring 2016 collection on display here as well. A little further down on Main Street, ChefDance is always a hit. Last year, 5-star chefs prepared coursed meals for celebs like Anna Kendrick and Joe Manganiello, and this year they will be hosting even more hungry stars to a series of fantastic sit-down dinners. For the celebs who prefer organic-only options (and trust Us, there are many), they can visit the Reel Food Cafe at the Village at the Lift where Applegate and Wholly Guacamole have prepared an all-natural menu perfect for a healthy, midday snack.
Sundance is known for gifting stars with some of the best swag around, and this year will be no different. From trips to Aruba to luxurious winter gear, the stars will be walking away with tons of free goodies! The Kari Feinstein Style Lounge makes sure the celebs leave Park City with tons of gifts. This year, the lounge will be giving away Huawei Smart Watches, Petcube cameras (so stars can check in on their furry friends whenever they have to travel away from home) and tons of luxury outerwear to make sure they stay toasty while in the mountains of Utah. The ECOLUXE Lounge will also be dolling out major swag to the celebs like Burnetie Shoes, Chariot Travelware and tons of other gifts. ECOLUXE is also asking attendees to bring an unwrapped toy, which will be donated to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Los Angeles, so celebs can donate to a good cause while collecting major swag.
