When Chase Stout’s girlfriend, Kenzie Jones, went out of town, he was tasked with feeding her kitten, Mr. Wilson. So Stout did the cutest thing ever: He whipped up a hearty breakfast fit for a 1.9 pound feline. But before the Iowa-based 21-year-old got busy in the kitchen, he texted his love of nearly two years an important question.

“Do you know if Wilson likes chocolate chips in his pancakes?” Stout typed. To which Jones replied, “did you give him some?”

Stout shared the exchange on Twitter along with a photo of Mr. Wilson enjoying his three teeny-tiny flapjacks topped with a pad of butter on September 26, and the pictures went viral, with 44,000 retweets and 81,000 likes. His caption: “When your girlfriend goes out of town and tells you ‘don’t forget to feed our cat.’”

“I made Wilson’s just like I did mine but with much less batter,” Stout tells Us Weekly. “We sat at the table and ate them together.” For the record, Mr. Wilson’s stack did not include chocolate chips!

“Wilson seemed to like them,” says Stout. “But I didn’t want him to eat them all because I was worried he’d have an upset stomach.”

As for people calling him #boyfriendgoals? “Kenzie is my favorite person,” Stout gushes to Us. “I try to spoil her with what I can and she does the same for me. I am the lucky one for sure.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Wilson isn’t the only animal to enjoy such a feast. In August, a woman named Sarah Kulevich grabbed headlines after she tweeted images of the miniature pancakes she feeds her chickens. “I spoil them,” the 18-year-old told New York Magazine. “I thought I’d make them pancakes because it’s like sweet bread and they loved it.”
