Exclusive: Why Ryan Reynolds Split With Charlize Theron After 2 Months

That was quick.
A source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (out now) that newly divorced Ryan Reynolds, 34, ended his brief summer fling with Charlize Theron, 36, in late July. "He only wanted something casual, but she's in a rush to settle down, have kids and start a family since she's getting older."

The source adds that the Prometheus actress "didn't take it very well when he broke it off. She knows deep down that it wouldn't have worked, but she is pretty bummed out about it all."
No wonder. Things seemed so promising for the private pair, who managed to stay off the radar until Reynolds was spotted emerging from the Oscar winner's Malibu home June 5.

Set up by mutual pals, the former neighbors (who had known each other for several years) realized they had a spark from the beginning. But Theron's family focus, compounded with conflicting schedules, forced Reynolds to end it. "They're both too busy," a Theron pal tells Us of the long-distance couple. "And they were hardly ever together anyway."

Everything that has ever been written about Charlize Theron disputes this story. She has been in long term relationships that have ended because she did not want to get married. She was with Stuart Townsend for 9 yrs! I think this is just another outright wrong report by someone that claims to be an "insider".
Maybe because Scarlett Johannson looks like Charlize Theron,duh! lol

@Minerva, I was going to say the same thing. She said she doesn't want to get married. Although I suppose that doesn't mean you don't want to settle down and have kids. Half of Hollywood is practically doing the same thing.
I saw Charlize Theron on a talk show several months ago about not ever wanting to be married. So, something is not right about this story! Hmmm

the comment about 2 months not being a relationship is just stupid! every relationship has to start out from an hour,a day,a week,weeks,a year,years- it's the love and commitment that makes a relationship no matter the length of time..people who spend years,decades together in fact in MISERY..what kind of relationship do they have...time is not the indicator it's the love...
Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock make a great pair. Both are my favorites and time for Sandra to be seen in the public again. Love them both.
Charlize probably saw "The Change-Up" and figured, "Why would I pursue an actor who'd agree to star in this?" And based upon some of the reviews (Roger Ebert's was particularly scathing), who could blame her?
I honestly didn't like the idea of those two. She seems snooty while he is down to earth and sweet. I still want him to be with Sandra.
