When a beaming Chelsea Clinton walked down the aisle to say "I do!" Saturday in her lavish wedding ceremony, she wore a strapless, raw-edged laser cut swirling silk organza Vera Wang ball skirt and train, with a silk tulle diagonally draped bodice accented by an embellished belt. (For her reception, she changed into a silk tulle Grecian Vera Wang gown with criss cross back and narrow grosgrain black belt.)

Wang, a friend of the Clinton family, also designed all the bridesmaids' dresses, which were strapless bias cut lavender chiffon gowns with a side drape and contrasting plum bow.

The groom wore a Burberry tux.

The mother of the bride, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, donned Oscar de la Renta.

Some of these comments show a lack of intelligence and sensitivity. Chelsea may not be beautiful (am sure that most of us would not fall into that category). She is however a pretty girl, dress was unique;fit her personality. Whether anyone likes the Clinton's or not, Chelsea seems to be well grounded, has turned out to be a decent person with both feet on the ground. Something was done right. The best to them both.

first off to everyone saying the dress is ugly it most definitly is not an ugly dress, you clearly don't know fashion. It was rated as one of the most prettiest dresses and you probably don't even know what vera wang is or that she is the most notorious wedding dress designer in the world. Secondly for some of you to call chelsea ugly isnt nice either because I don't see any of you on the cover of US magazine or anything. Third to those making comments about bill he was one of the best presidents we have had, who cares who he slept with im sure more than half of the world has cheated on their wives/husbands, whatever he did was his business and whatever you do is also your business.

I loved the top of Chelsea's dress, too.She did look lovely. But the bottom (and the belt) is no different than 100's of other gowns that are very popular now. Vera didn't seem to do anything 'original'. We haven't seen the other wedding party yet, but Bill and Marc did NOT look as put-together as Chelsea and her mother. Do they not like men???? LOL Their ties were way too skinny and a little crooked. The suits did not look special at all. A vest would have done wonders. (My father owned a men's formalwear shop for 50+ years!!) And..Bill looked terrible. Way too much weight lost. He looked just fine before he was told to lose the weight. He wasn't even smiling when he walked her down the aisle. So that back-fired on her. Also, to put an ugly bobby pin on Marc to hold his yarmulkah on was terrible. A little piece of velcro UNDER the yarmulkah would have done the trick and he would have looked much more put-together. Seemed like 99.99 percent of the wedding planning went to everything else but how the men looked!!! Did Chelsea ask her mother to lose weight, too?? As for the cost-which is much lower than previously reported-that doesn't bother me. It's their money to do what they want to for their only child. I was surprised, though, at how many of the Jewish traditions were used for the ceremony! (I am Jewish, btw) I do wish Marc and Chelsea all the best.

The top of that dress was gorgeous, but the bottom half looked like a big mess of dirty gray tulle!

I am not a big fan of the Clinton's but I have to say that Chelsea was gorgeous; and the reception sounds like it was the best party ever, what reception that you've been to goes well into the next day. Well done, bet it was a blast. Congrats to the couple.

Wow, some people are so petty! Chelsea looks beautiful, love her dress. She's been a model American/woman/child, I wish more young women would aspire to be like her than the other spoiled and useless women in the media.

I wish her and her new husband a long and happy marriage filled with love and passion. She looked beautiful on her wedding day in her gown.

I have never written on a celeb site before, but after seeing the comments I had to say something. I can NOT believe how VILE some of the comments that have been made. For those of you who "tried" to make a nasty comment, do you think you would have the guts to say it to the Clinton's face? AMAZING how the power of sitting behind a laptop, makes you all of a sudden a Beauty Judge. This was someone's wedding, a memorable day in someone's life, and some of the comments deserve to be in a garbage dump. Why don't we start posting pic's of people who comment. That way we all leave ourselves open to critique...hmmm? Right, I guess not.

Chelsa is UGLY, but she looked nice on her wedding day. Her dress is overrated, I like the belt.

Oh for God's sake. Bill Clinton gets security for life. The same way George Bush gets security for life. The same way most of our former presidents got security for life. Get over it, people! I'm sure the Bush girl's wedding was just as expensive. So what? Think of it this way, at least the security guys have a job. The wedding was beautiful. Chelsea looked amazing. Her husband looked handsome. I hope they stay happy and in love. Congrats to the newlyweds!

No need to criticize a proud Mother and Father for wanting to give their only daughter her dream wedding. She was beaming!!

  • August 02, 2010 - 6:44pm Sadie

She has nothing to do with her parents and their mistakes, sucesses. She was a beautiful bride....just stunning. I loved the dress and would give anything to look like that on my wedding day.
