Knowing that her spontaneous engagement ring debut would be documented in a photo that would live on forever, Angelina Jolie made sure to wear a timeless outfit when she, her new fiance Brad Pitt and their son Pax paid a visit to LACMA's Chinese galleries Wednesday.
At the museum, the 36-year-old looked polished in a L'agence ivory tie-neck blouse (which retails for $400) paired with black wide-leg trousers and black heels.
The casual but chic outfit complemented Jolie's waif figure, but at the same time made sure to not take away from her show-stopping bauble.
According to jewelry expert Michael O'Connor, Jolie's engagement ring boasts a 7-carat center emerald-cut diamond with another 9 carats of tapering emerald-cut diamonds around the platinum band. The 16-carat ring has an estimated price tag of $500,000!
The diamonds are "of the finest quality, which was then transformed using Pitt's unique designs, cut with distinctive faceting to a shape and size that perfectly suits Angelina's long, slender fingers," the couple's longtime jeweler Robert Procop explained.
