Top That! Pregnant Blake Lively continues to slay maternity style, but there’s one look she thinks her sister wore better — back in 1989.
The ensemble in question: a navy blue Monse Maison minidress and voluminous ’80s corkscrew curls that The Shallows actress, 28, wore on Wednesday, June 22. The outfit and hair eerily resembled an ensemble her older half sister Robyn Lively wore in the cult classic Teen Witch.
Comparing the looks in a side-by-side image via Instagram, the Gossip Girl alum let Us know which style was best. “Who wore it bett…SHUT-UP!!” Blake wrote on June 23. “We all know Teen Witch wins. Always. All ways.”
In the ’80s flick, Robyn’s character Louise develops supernatural powers on her 16th birthday, which leads her to make a love potion and finally get noticed by her teen crush, Brad, played by Dan Gauthier. And occasionally break out in song like the beloved “Top That.”
Teen Witch had a huge influence over the entire Lively family. So much so that Blake was even charmed, during her wedding to Ryan Reynolds in September 2012, with a rendition of a choreographed dance from the movie’s finale. “My younger sister [Blake] and younger brother [Eric Lively] are huge Teen Witch fans,” Robyn, 44, recounted a year after the festivities on the Pop My Culture podcast. “So for my younger sister’s wedding, my younger brother and I got together and figured out how to do that last scene, the ‘Finest Hour’ dance…We surprised her.”
What do you think of Blake’s Teen Witch–inspired style?
