Can’t say this is a red carpet staple! Fred Armisen stepped onto the Emmys red carpet wearing a pretty unusual choice of hand accessory: Freddy Krueger gloves.
The SNL alum wore a dapper black textured suit by Ted Baker London with a knit red and green stripped tie and Tod’s lace-up shoes while making his way into the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, but what really caught everyone’s eye was his accessories.
The comedian chose to wear a Freddy Krueger claw glove, perhaps in reference to the “charity” he spoke of on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Joking back in Aug. 11, he told Meyers that he was running in a 5k to create awareness for the interesting hand accessory made famous in A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Although another likely reason behind the sharp accessory is a tribute to Wes Craven, director of 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street, who died in August.
Portlandia is nominated for two Emmy Awards this year.
