Sexy on the beach!
Gigi Hadid reveals just what it takes (including what music she listens to!) to get those sizzling images for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in a behind-the-scenes video.
For the 2016 edition, on stands February 16, the Victoria’s Secret model, 20, flaunts her fit physique in multiple teeny bikinis, body chains and cutout one-piece swimsuits for her flirty spread.
In the video, Hadid reveals that music is key to a good shoot for her. “Finding a really good soundtrack is really important,” she says. “It changes the whole energy on the set.” She even does her best beachside karaoke to her BFF Taylor Swift‘s “I Knew You Were Trouble.”
The Maybelline brand ambassador, who has posed twice before for the Swim Issue, also dishes on her favorite look. “I loved every shot, but I think the one that stood out to me the most was the white one-piece that connected on the sides,” Hadid says of a cutout monokini that flashed her underboob. “I thought it was sporty, but a little bit vintage, which I really loved, and it reminded me of the old Sports Illustrated swimsuits that I loved.”
But it wasn’t all sexy bathing suits and sandy beaches. To get the shot of Hadid reclining on a traditional counterbalance canoe, things got a little painful as she struggled to find the perfect angle while balancing her neck, shoulders and feet in strained positions. When she takes a look at the beautiful image, photographer Yu Tsai asks, “Was it worth it?” To which Hadid responds, laughing, “It looks better than it felt!”
