Growing up on screens big (Akeelah and the Bee) and small (Nickelodeon's True Jackson), Keke Palmer is anxious to show off her style evolution at the 2014 Emmy Awards on Monday, Aug. 25.
"I've become so much more interested in fashion because I look for ways to express myself and make a point about who I am," the Alexander Wang, Philip Lim and Saint Laurent devotee, 20, told Us Weekly.
During an Aug. 5 photo shoot with Us, Palmer — starting as Broadway's new Cinderella this fall — shared a few of her Emmy dress picks, but remained tight-lipped about the final look.
"I feel like [my Emmy dress] epitomizes who I am and my coming of age," Palmer, whose Lifetime movie, The Trip to Bountiful, is nominated in the Outstanding Television Movie category, said. "It's the first time I'm going to the Emmys as an adult, and my life is changing, so this is a moment for me where I feel like a princess. I knew the dress was the one because I felt like I could do anything — it was almost fairy tale-ish."
