Cha-ching! For Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne, it pays to be a model on social media. And not just because they're gaining followers and likes: Each of the "Instagirls" can make up to $300,000 per post, CR Fashion Book reports. Yes, $300,000.
Jenner, 20, Delevingne, 23, and Hadid, 20, are the three most highly ranked models on social media (in that order), according to analytics group D’Marie Archive, who recently put together an app that helps agencies determine the social power of a model. They are "currently valued between $125,000 and $300,000 for a single post across their portfolio," Frank Spadafora, an ex-casting director and the CEO of D'Marie Archive, told the mag.
D'Marie's algorithm uses 56 metrics — like how often someone posts, how much their fans interact on their page and how often fans click through from a link they provide — to determine what a post from a top model should cost.
But this trio of ladies aren't the only ones who can earn quick cash. Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo and Miranda Kerr make anywhere between $25,000 and $50,000 for uploading a product pic.
"The most valuable reason for a model to be on social media is definitely a combination of monetizing her image and using the platform to develop and build a digital brand for themselves,” says Micki Schneider, senior booker at Wilhelmina models, which reps Jenner and other high-profile girls. "The more followers a model has, the more they can be appealing to certain clients. And we encourage the girls and are very mindful, as they create their own brands and become more mainstream, to be as authentic as possible."
