Need a little costume inspiration for Halloween? The only thing stranger than fiction is reality — TV, that is. This Oct. 31, pay homage to your favorite stars from shows like The Bachelor, The Real Housewives of Wherever, Duck Dynasty, Survivor, and Honey Boo Boo. We’ve got some tips and tricks below, but feel free to add your own personal flair!

The Bachelor/The Bachelorette

What you’ll need: If you’re a guy, a nice suit and a bouquet of red roses with the thorns cut off. If you’re a girl, a swanky gown and a handful of red rose boutonnieres.

Extra tips and tricks: Introduce yourself to members of the opposite sex by saying, “[Name here], will you accept this rose?” and either handing them a flower or pinning it onto their costume. Men, feel free to bring along a (fake) engagement ring so you can propose to any potential “soul mates.”

The Real Housewives of Wherever

What you’ll need: Perfectly blown-out hair, a body-con dress or glamorous gown (preferably in a color and/or with sequins), a spray tan (for New Jersey or Beverly Hills), sky-high heels, and a wine glass. (Try to refrain from throwing it at someone if you get Ramotional, though.)

Extra tips and tricks: Carry a prop to symbolize whichever city you want to represent. For example, an orange for Orange County or an apple for New York City (The Big Apple). If you want to get really creative, come up with your own Housewives tagline and wear it on a placard around your neck. (We like this one from RHONJ‘s Dina Manzo: “I’m back to bring the zen. Namaste, bitches!”)

Duck Dynasty

What you’ll need: Camouflage anything and everything, a stars-and-stripes bandanna (for Willie Robertson), a long, scraggly beard, and a duck call.

Extra tips and tricks: Get a group of friends to dress up with you and go as the entire Robertson family — Phil and Miss Kay, Willie and Korie, Jase and Missy, Jep and Jessica, Alan, and Uncle Si.

What you’ll need: Cargo shorts or jean shorts, a tank top or T-shirt, sneakers, a bandanna, and some dirt (or eyeshadow that looks like dirt) to rub all over your skin. This is the wilderness, after all. Girls can also opt to wear a bikini under their clothes.

Extra tips and tricks: Make your own Tribal Council torch using a wooden stick and a battery-operated candle or red and orange paper “flames.”

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo

What you’ll need: For classic Honey Boo Boo, a frilly pink dress with lots of embellishments (or a pink tutu and bedazzled pink top), white ruffled socks, white Mary Janes, a curly blonde wig, and lots and lots of bright makeup. For commitment ceremony Honey Boo Boo — pics here — a beaded orange and pink gown with flouncy layers, plus the blonde wig and lots of makeup.

Extra tips and tricks: Honey Boo Boo has had all kinds of interesting pets, including a pig and a chicken, so carry a stuffed-animal version of either to round out your costume. If you’re going for classic Honey Boo Boo, you can also add a pageant sash.
