Bling, bling! Mariah Carey announced her engagement to her billionaire boyfriend, James Packer, on Thursday, January 21, and Us Weekly has photos of her diamond ring — with a whopping 35-carat center stone!
Designed by Wilfredo Rosado (Carey’s go-to jeweler and friend), the “Honey” singer’s eye-popping bauble features a massive emerald-cut diamond, flanked by two tapered baguettes and finished in a platinum setting.

“I took the standards super high, and I wanted to create a ring that could not be measured up to,” Rosado told Vogue.
He also noted that the ring’s success is all about the proportions. “The stone is so large, but we were able to create a beautiful balance with the overall simplicity of the design,” he said. “It was about mixing simplicity with volume, which is very difficult to do.”
Just for a little perspective: Jennifer Aniston wears a 10-carat ring, Kim Kardashian rocks a 15-carat stunner and Beyoncé boasts an 18-carat diamond — Carey’s in nearly twice that size.

Nevertheless, as the pop diva’s longtime friend, Rosado was more than up to the challenge. “We have the same taste, and when it came down to it, I really wanted to create something for her that was about new beginnings,” he shared. “I wanted to give her something super sophisticated and something that took away all of the embellishments that a lot of people use when they design engagement rings these days. But it is epic. It’s an epic ring for an epic time in her life.”
