Jon and Kate Gosselin appeared in a Pennsylvania courthouse Tuesday morning to battle over allegations that Jon withdrew $230,000 from a shared banking account.

The estranged couple arrived separately at Montgomery Courthouse around 8 a.m., according to TMZ.com. Jon was the first to leave around 9 a.m.

Their lawyers met with the judge in chambers for an hour, but no settlement was reached, according to TMZ.com.

The judge ordered that any money taken from the joint account should be returned, but didn't offer specifics. He also told the couple to keep their split "private and amicable."

They're due back in court Oct. 26, when the judge will sign off on what an arbitrator decides as long as it's in the best interest of the children.

Jon -- who has denied claims that he took money against their agreement, leaving Kate without cash to pay bills -- filed a separate complaint that Kate withdrew $60,000 from the account without permission.

In a statement on Sunday, Jon's lawyer, Mark Heller, told Usmagazine.com that Jon "has chosen to take the high road" by not releasing any further information on the case.

"He did not want to embarrass Kate with the allegations set forth therein and was hopeful that such restraint, to his own detriment, would inspire Kate to privately come to the table with her counsel to resolve all outstanding issues relating to their divorce, through peaceful private negotiation -- rather than the contentious litigation that [Kate's lawyer] Mr. Momjian seems so willing to instigate and pursue in the public eye."

A wire transfer is when money is taken from one bank account and placed in another bank account. According to papers that Kate's lawyer filed, a wire transfer for $25,000 on 09-23-09 and a phone transfer for $10,000 was done on 09-14-09. Isn't Kate the controller over all the bank accounts? I would love to know which account(s) the above monies went to.

It's funny how Jon's lawyer cuts down Kate's lawyer for bringing things up in the public eye. Because Jon and his lawyer don't do that! WHATEVER. The judge said their Oct 26th hearing will be made public. So we will find out who the liar is then.
