He totally nails it! Johnny Depp sat down with Ellen DeGeneres to talk about his amazing transformation into Donald Trump in his recent Funny or Die movie — and proved that his skills of impersonation are super impressive.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star revealed (on The Ellen DeGeneres Show which will air Friday, May 20) that the physical transformation into the presidential hopeful wasn’t too arduous, despite the fact that Depp and Trump share very few obvious similarities.
But once the makeup and prosthetics were on, it was the Republican front-runner Trump’s voice that took the real work.
“In terms of the prosthetics we were pretty conservative,” Depp, 52, told his host as a video of the technical process played. “I just thought it sounded like fun,” he added, of his reasons for doing the project. “I figured I could suss out how he speaks, but it’s difficult,” he added. “He speaks real weird.”
Depp then launched into a very impressive example the Trump voice and brought his character to life.
