Elisabeth Moss Doesn’t Feel Mad Men Is “Dead and Buried” Yet, Teases Spinoff

huffpost live

After seven seasons, it’s the beginning of the end of the Mad Men era. But for Elisabeth Moss‘ beloved character Peggy, it might not necessarily be the end, at least if it was up to Moss. “I would totally do [a spinoff],” the actress revealed in a HuffPost Live interview April 2. Even better? If the series documented her relationship with Joan (Christina Hendricks).

“I love Peggy and Joan’s relationship, and [Christina’s] a brilliant actress,” Moss, 32, said. “She devastates me whenever I see her [act].”

Currently acting on Broadway in The Heidi Chronicles, Moss — who wrapped Mad Men in July — says keeping busy with other gigs keeps her mind off having to fully let the long running series go. “I don’t feel like it’s dead and buried yet,” said the star. Still, Moss isn’t anticipating a return to TV just yet.  “I’m going to let people enjoy Mad Men before doing [another series],” she confirmed.

When it came time to pack up her trailer on the Mad Men set and clock out for one final time, Moss knew just what souvenir she’d take: Peggy’s red thermos. Why not Peggy’s ’60s wardrobe? “I wouldn’t keep the wardrobe — it’s what I wore to work for nine years. And the materials weren’t as comfortable as they are now.”
