Alexis Bledel Drops Hint About Where Rory Ends Up in ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival: It Feels ‘Pretty Natural’

When asked if where Rory and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) end up felt like an inevitability to her, Bledel replied, “It did. It felt pretty natural. Part of Rory and Lorelai’s dynamic was that Rory was always the adult in the relationship, and Lorelai would sometimes act more like a kid. Then she would pull the mom card.”

“Now, [Rory] is out living her own life and taking care of herself and trying to survive her day to day, which is not easy, being a journalist in this day and age,” the Sin City actress, 35, continued. “She’s not that far along in her career, but she’s been doing it for a little while. That’s really been her main focus. It]s had to be, for her to survive her own life. So coming back to see her mom is stepping back into that dynamic that has now matured into something else.”

Ever since news of the reboot first broke, fans have speculated about whether Rory will end up with any of her three most significant ex-boyfriends: hometown hottie Dean (Jared Padalecki), erudite bad boy Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) or fellow Yale grad Logan (Matt Czuchry). In the interview, Bledel appears to rule out one once and for all.

She said of filming with Padalecki, “It was great working with him again. He’s always so affable and friendly, and he’s got this great energy. Our scene was so fun to film. It was great to work with him again.” However, when she realized that she revealed they only shared a single scene together, she added, “I guess I just said that, so oops!”
