Lauren Graham was born in 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she studied acting during her childhood and adolescence. After graduating from college, Graham moved to New York City to pursue a career as an actress. At the start of their acting careers, Graham was roommates with Nashville actress, Connie Britton.
The young actress appeared on a number of television shows either which failed, or she was only a guest role on. However, in 2000, Graham landed her breakout role as Lorelai Gilmore in Gilmore Girls, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series (Drama) in 2001.
After Gilmore Girls, Graham played some more guest roles in TV shows, as well as appearing in some bigger films, such as The Pacifier and Because I Said So.
In October 2009, it was announced that the Hawaiian actress would replace Maura Tierney as Sarah Braverman in the NBC series, Parenthood.
Graham started dating her Parenthood costar Peter Krause in 2010. Us confirmed in June 2022 that the duo split one year prior.
