On Monday, May 5, Gwen Stefani took us 'round that track again, performing her 2004 mega hit "Hollaback Girl" on The Voice's Top 8 Live Shows. The 44-year-old has officially signed on as a season 7 coach of the NBC competition show and was joined on stage by another future coach, Pharrell Williams, who co-wrote the hit.
Looking slim in a revealing black jumpsuit after giving birth to third son Apollo in February, Stefani owned the stage with her backup dancers clad in gold.
Williams joined her toward the end of the performance, wearing a Mickey Mouse-printed sweater. The longtime friends had great chemistry on stage, exciting fans for the Fall.
"Make some noise for the queen!" Williams declared at the end of the song.
Host Carson Daly spoke to the pair following their performance to give fans a taste of season 7.
"What am I not excited about?" Stefani gushed. "Like two minutes ago I was giving birth and now I'm standing here in front of all these [people]. It's incredible!"
The "Happy" crooner, who sang his new single "Come Get It Bae" earlier in the evening, echoed his pal's sentiment, adding, "It's such an amazing platform to be able to speak to the rest of the world. You guys have great coaches now that do the same thing. They give people priceless advice that changes their lives, and Gwen and I get that opportunity now."
"Team #Coach at the #VoiceTailgate," Usher captioned the group shot.
Original coach Christina Aguilera already congratulated her old friend Stefani via Twitter.
"So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest," Aguilera, 33, tweeted on April 28.
