Hope Solo Bursts Into Tears, Refuses All Press After DWTS Ouster

Hope Solo is a sore loser!
After the 30-year-old Olympic soccer star was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars Tuesday along with her pro partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, things went sour backstage as Solo processed her exit.

As Rob Kardashian, Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez celebrated their places in the finale and spoke to media outlets -- including Us Weekly -- a dejected Solo did one TV interview, refused all other press opportunities and burst into tears, an eyewitness in the ballroom tells Us.

Prior to her outburst, Solo told DWTS host Tom Bergeron she was grateful for her time on the ABC series. "This competition is one of the toughest competitions I've ever been a part of," Solo said. "It was an amazing opportunity. We have the most amazing fan base and instead of the winning the mirrorball trophy, I'm going to try to win a gold medal this summer at the Olympics."

Solo also praised her outspoken partner Chmerkovskiy, even after he almost made her quit the show.
"Maks put so much into [our Monday night] Argentine tango and it's something to be proud of," she told Us after performing Monday. "He basically broke his body picking me up and teaching me how to do this dance, and I pulled muscles doing it. It wasn't easy," the athlete continued. "To come out with [scores of] 8's, I was like, there's no other couple here who can do what we just did!"
Dancing With the Stars' finale airs next Monday and Tuesday night on ABC.

Hope's attitude was horrible!! She deserved to be kicked off -- she should have went weeks before she actually did. Judges are called judges for a reason----they are there to judge you!!! For her and Maks to say "F@ck them" goes to show just how childish they both were. She sucked---bottom line!!! Everyone knows, prior to joining the show, that they will be judged.......J.R. and Rob are class acts!! Ricki Lake is just annoying (I think it's the stupid faces she makes when dancing)----I'm betting J.R. will take the mirror ball trophy!!!
I don't think she's a sore loser. I think she was emotional and didn't want to talk. I'm sure she was exhausted and overwhelmed. She doesn't have to do press right away if she doesn't want to. Ease up, people.

Hope sucked! I'm glad she went home when she did! She has no class at all. Rob was doing his thing this week and Ricki and J. R. were great as usual. Hope the ankle get better, so my boy J.R. can win it all!

Hope improved greatly throughout the season, but she wasn't good enough to make the finals. It's that simple. She wasn't treated unfairly. As a professional athlete, it had to be a HUGE blow to her ego to have non-athletes beat her. When she has time to look back on the entire process, she will realize that dancing is not her sport, and that she was lucky to make it as far as she did considering that she acted like an arrogant, spoiled brat off-and-on throughout the season. No one is ever going to be the best at everything they do. I sincerely hope that she lets this go and concentrates on what she is the best and wins Gold in the Summer Olympics.
That is just too much hate, Hope did very well..her and Maks were not treated fairly. All the glory went to J.R. and omg Rob. If Hope did not love what she was doing, it would have been no big deal. They had to leave because they stand up for themselves, the were not wanted in the show.
You sucked Hope! That's why you were voted off. Take it like a woman and stop whining.
I know that Hope has had a troubled life with a disfunctional family, but I just don't like the girl or anything about her. She thinks she's a diamond when she is just a cubic zirconia.
Whatever you think of Hope or anyone else performing, the judges are becoming more and more snobbish. You have Bruno telling Chaz Bono he looks like a penguin (and in a previous show talking about Karina's private parts), Len spouting about how he has so much experience and Carrie Ann scolding Maksim about how he smiles. The judges should show more character and instead they are acting like children. The celebrities and the professional dancers work hard to make a good performance and the judges act like they are above them. The judges are not just the show, it takes the entire group of dancers, performers and judges to put on a good show and the judges should have more character and judgment and stop acting so petty.
Hope, you were treated by the judges the way they would treat any other mediocre couple that lasted longer than they should have. You did not improve, you were sloppy and disrespectful. It's a competitioin and losing is not fun, but you lacked grace and style and we expected much more from you as a pro athelete that represents the United States.
Hope Solo has always been a whiny little girl. If she'd refused to comment when Greg Ryan put Brianna Scurry in the Brazil game a few years ago, she wouldn't have this reputation, and MAYBE -- just maybe -- she would find a little sympathy without the obligatory qualifying comments about attitude.
If you don't like the show do not watch it. They were not of the caliber of the finalists. Sorry and when you go on the show you know what you will face. This is the 13th season not the first. You can't please everyone.
