Katy Perry and John Mayer have taken their relationship to the recording studio! The on-again, off-again couple recorded a new duet, "Who You Love," and Perry debuted the new song on The Morning Mash Up live on SiriusXM Hits 1 on Monday, Aug. 12.
"Who You Love" will be featured on Mayer's upcoming six studio album, Paradise Valley, in stores Aug. 20. Towards the end of the song, Perry lets out a tiny cute laugh.
"Did he tickle you or did you mess up?" host Nicole Biggins asked on the radio show.
"I think that's just a love giggle," Perry explained. "It's like the ones that Mariah Carey had in 1990 and stuff like that . . . Yeah I think I was going for that, I think I was just so happy, I love that song . . ."
"It's very humanizing," she added about her giggle. "It's like the real moment, you're catching the real moment there."
The "Part of Me" singer has been dating Mayer, 35, since her divorce from Russell Brand was finalized in February 2012. The musicians recently called it quits in March 2013, but reconciled in June. "He pulled away. That was a big hello for me," Perry told the September issue of ELLE UK. "I realized I could lose the person I loved and I had to deal with some things, issues I think a lot of women have. You can be strong in one aspect of your life but submissive in another."
During the break in their relationship, the popstar told the July issue of Vogue, "I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind."
"Beautiful mind, tortured soul," she added. "I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."
