Shopping for a wedding dress is a big job! Lexie struggles to find the right gown for her tall, lanky frame in My Giant Life‘s Tuesday, July 12, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The TLC series’ clip shows her trying on a number of dresses with her family. The mission proves to be extra challenging, given that she’s 6-foot-6, meaning that certain body parts are not properly hidden by the fitting room’s walls.
“Trying clothes on sometimes is a tough task,” Lexie tells the camera. “They don’t make dressing rooms for 6-foot-6 girls — they make them for average, 5-foot-5 girls. Sometimes [fellow shoppers] have to close their eyes [when I try on clothes] — or get a good look.”
Later, she laments about an ill-fitting gown, “If I want to go longer, I have to go up in size, but if I go up in size, it gets way too wide in this area [gestures to her chest].”
The process is also tough because her fiancé, Harrison, is attending the United States Military Academy in West Point, which is 2,500 miles away from their Phoenix, Arizona, home.
“Trying on wedding dresses is a bittersweet feeling,” she says to the camera. “I miss Harrison most when I’m planning our wedding. I’m starting to really realize that this is becoming more of ‘my wedding’ versus ‘our wedding’ because Harrison is not here helping me put all the pieces together. It’s just not the way I would choose to do this.”
