In a new PSA, debuting on UsMagazine.com, Oscar-wining actress Sandra Bullock urges fans to help out in the Gulf oil spill crisis.

Bullock, 45, is featured alongside Blake Lively, Lenny Kravitz and Dave Matthews (among others) in the clip for Restore the Gulf, a grassroots initiative to secure long-term funding to restore and protect the Gulf Coast and area wetlands.

The clip is designed to capture signatures to an online petition to be delivered to Congress.

"What can you offer?" Bullock asks in the clip (see above). "Your voice. Speak up!"

many of us would help, but to help others we need to help ourselves first. Many of us don't have the money you do, the majority is struggling, and everyone forgets that. So start at home and work your way out into the world. And those who can afford it. Get up and do something that can matter!!!

    sandra looks beautiful!

  • July 20, 2010 - 8:03pm Not so true

Actually "good for her" she isn't the only one. in fact Sophia bush, Christina applegate, Alyssa milano, and other big stars have been VERY active about this from the very beggining. But i do applaud every celeb for taking part in the disaster.

  • July 20, 2010 - 4:31pm Good for her

Sandra Bullock is the only celebrity to have said anything since the beginning. She's on a gain. Good for her! Love that Sandra Bullock!

Sandra Bullock has been one of the first to respond to anything horrific - and her genuine spirit is wonderful to see. BUT--Where are the Hollywood benefits the way they did for Haiti? I found a Jimmy Buffet benefit on CMT by accident, but nothing the way celebs usually dominate by taking over every station possible.

I liked The VIDEO, and I totally agree with all of The Celebs in there about helping in The Gulf Oil Spill!

  • July 20, 2010 - 11:45am Already did

I know she's had a lot going on in her personal life but couldn't she have said this weeks/months ago? I work so I can't physically go to the Gulf area myself but a group from my church went there in mid-May to help out however they could and I made a donation for them to take there for me. Even though we're in a small rural community and our church doesn't have a huge congregation, we managed to raise over $1,700.00. That may not sound like much but every little bit helps. When my vacation time rolls around, I plan on going there myself to lend a hand. So while I'm glad to hear Sandra get involved, I have to wonder why it took so long and why more of the Hollywood elite has seemingly turned a blind eye to this disaster. People are so busy pointing fingers that they seem to forget that there are "real" everyday working people whose lives have been forever changed and they need as much help as we can all give them.
