So much for being "guidette" princesses.

Jersey Shore star Jenni "JWoww" Farley, 23, admitted on Fox's Strategy Room Tuesday that she and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi aren't even Italian!

See what stars look like with Snooki's hair!

J-Woww says she's Spanish and Irish, while Snooki, 21, is Chilean.

The MTV reality show was slammed by Italian-American groups for perpetuating "negative stereotypes," UNICO National President Andre DiMino told Fox last year.

"If you replace Italian-Americans with any other ethnic group, would they use such a pejorative term to promote the show?" he fumed.

JWoww also shattered another Jersey Shore myth: The girls don't believe in GTL! (Which stands for gym, tan, laundry, the schedule made famous by co-star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.)

Ugh - well Jersey Shore gets on my nerves I only watch in when there is nothing else on. As for JWOW and Snooki not being Italian...I kind of suspected that. I mean JWOW's last name is Farley and Snooki doesn't appear Italian but she definitely looks Chilean. As for all the 'Guido' talk I'm from Jersey and although 'Guido' started out as a pejorative term for Italians who, ironically, at that time were not considered 'White' - it has not developed into a trend, kind of a lifestyle. Similar to 'emo', 'goths', 'ghetto'/'urban' what-have-you. I remember in school we used to make fun of our friend who was Colombian and call him a 'Guido'. He had the spikey hair, the flashy Armani Exchange clothes with the shades, and loved fistpumping to house music. I think that the girls didn't mean any harm identifying or talking about 'Guido' this or 'Guido' that. To them and many people in the Jersey suburbs it is a subculture amongst young people, point-blank-period. As for the Italian flag on the Jersey shore house, a lot of the other roomates ARE Italian or are mixed with Italian. As someone who is partially Italian I can tell you that similar to anyone who is mixed with African American or Latino...that Italian pride is gonna come out hard. It's just the way the culture is. As for Snooki identifying with Italian culture, she grew up in an Italian-American home eating Italian food and learning Italian traditions from her adoptive parents so it's no stretch that she would be appreciative of the culture or attracted to Italian guys. As for all this discussion on Italian is or isn't white...there are so many forums dedicated to this topic. I myself have a mixed heritage that include Italian, Cuban, Irish, Filipino, and Native Amerindian. I am proud of every single one of my cultures, but I honestly don't 'feel' or identify as White because I am usually perceived as different amongst white peers. I have European ancestry and a light olive skintone that tans but also freckles yet I don't 'feel' White. Even my friends or cousins who are 100% Italian here in the US don't view themselves as White. I have a feeling that Italians back in Italy have a different view but the US has a very strong history of racism that persists today. When our grandparents and greatgrandparents from Italy first arrived in the US there were very few if any Latinos so they were some of the only olive-skinned immigrants. There are no acceptance, no bilingual translators at offices, and no signs in different languages at deparment stores. Similar to black people Italians were killed in mass lynchings in the south and even in northern cities were barred from jobs and apartments - 'Italians need not apply'; 'We don't rent to Italians'. Italians had to PROVE that they were actually White in court as a means to naturalization otherwise they were deported. Many Italians come in different shades from lightest white with blonde hair, pale skin, and colored eyes to dark-medium brown (no tanning bed necessary), black kinky (afro-like hair), brown eyes and prominent Arab-African like featurues. Especially in the southern part of Italy (Calabria) and Sicily there are people of various phenotypes even within one family. My Italian cousins have hair that looks like 'Jew-fros' LOL. If you look at Italy on a map it's geographically placed smack in the center of the Mediterranean and was therefore a global hub when sea was the only means of travel for trade. The southern part of Italy and Sicily similar to the south of Spain has significant Arab, Greek, and Northern African influence. Even in Sicily, the food includes things similar to 'couscous'. Italians had to fight to be considered white in a time that assimilation was necessary for survival in American society. A lot of Italians I know, including myself - don't typically identify as White or will clearly state "Yeah, but I'm ITALIAN" and stress that heritage. As someone of both Hispanic and Italian heritage - there are many differences but there are more similarities between the two. We have rich meals, we typically come from large families, we are traditionally Catholic yet superstitious, etc. etc. Now, personally - I would never tell my Italian/Cuban grandfather that he is not white because he came to this country and is very proud of his European/Hispanic heritage...he had to fight for it. But us amongst the younger generation are more of the mindset that as much European blood as I have - if my food is remotely seasoned, if I tan in the summer, if my hair is somewhat curly, if I have somewhat of an ass, if I speak fast, if I have an accent, if my relative are loud, then my White neighbors will look down on me. And it's true I've heard and witnessed numerous white people complain about Italians as well as whitest white Argentinians, Cubans, Brazilians, etc. Because although many Latinos are mixed with Amerindian, European, and African there are some who are mostly white, mostly black, etc. But even here in the US, a white Cuban is a Hispanic. Look at your census - Non-Hispanic White vs. Hispanic of any race. The comparison is valid because I can speak from experience our culture is similar and many Latinos DO have German, Italian, Lebanese in their families...So they share a similar look. Just wondering - in the future with White Cubans, White Puerto Ricans finally just be White (like Italians have become on our Census) or will there always be that Puerto Rican tacked on the end? Either way, do we really care? I mean honestly Italians like Boricuas and Cubanos are way too proud to be ever thought of as White. Like white-white...like Tuna casserole on Sunday, Meatloaf on Wednesday with a little sister named Becky??? Food for thought.

Tanya Wynn-eww, im Mexican, Brown and Proud! I do know that there are some sell outs out there that because of white society seem to be ashamed of who they are and their race but me personally. I WOULD NEVER WANT TO CLAIM OR SAY THAT IM WHITE! Even if I have European blood which most hispanics do, I dont claim it. If a hispanic person is ashamed of their race its cause they dont know who they are and are confused. But Ill tell you something Tanya...I see alot of white people paying alot of money to make their pasty white skin tanned, and alot of white women dyeing their hair black, getting collogen in their lips and boob transplants. hmm...does'nt quite seem like their really proud of being white, seems more like they are trying to look like us. Beautiful J Lo looking women, no? Maybe you should ask your husband lol.

Neenja..hispanics are not italian..im so tired of hispanic people who are ashamed of what they are trying to grasp onto any part of white they can. Hispanics are either mixed with african, indian or spanish from spain. Dominicans which are hispanics and dark as black people are african descent. The hub of slavery began in what is Haiti and the Dominican Republic which share the same island...so are Puerto Rican and those from Latin America..if you meet a hispanic who is a racist against blacks its usually because they know its in them...Italians also have african ancestry..if you look at a map of italy you will see how close it is to Africa and how easy it was to be invaded by African tribes...the foods that spanish people eat are customary of what they ate in their countries which was very poor...rice and beans is eaten in every spanish home because in their countries it was cheap to buy so if your poor and all you can eat is rice and beans and bananas and chicken then you eat it all the time which they do...Italians don't eat that.. spanish music is more close to african music..other than the catholic religion spanish people and italians are not the same..alot of races are catholic..its a religion...alot of races are family oriented..hispanics are more family oriented because they have a lot of children and from being poor in their countries its nothing for them to have several generations living in the same home...by like 2030 hispanics are going to be the largest group of people not because of immigation but from having a lot of children...Neenja needs to read her/his history a little better...

History Lesson, In the Roman era the Romans conquered A an Iberian peninsula called Iberia. This land was populated by greeks, phonecians and celts. The romans over ran the place and called this the people of this land hispanics. These where for the most part of italian, greek, phenician celt mixture of peoples. Italians and Spanish are related by blood and culture. Spanish came from Italian. Why would a hispanic want to be something he.she already is. The term white means nothing. It is an dumb down american invention. Italians who are anglo or "white" are not native italians and in fact or foreigners from northern countries like germany that flodded the Mediterranean city of rome. Folks you have to read, history 101.

I would like to inform the people on post that Italians can consider themselves white if they want to but don't get mad and name call because other people notice that some of you are not white. Because it is a historical FACT that may Italians mixed with Africans and Arabs and Spaniard blood especially in the region of Sicily. This in fact makes many of you Mulattos but of course they would rather give the credit to OLIVES and say nasty things when people don't pretend not to notice. In my opinion, that's what makes you beautiful. You should be proud. I know I am.

  • October 14, 2011 - 1:43pm Marie Garcia

I knew those tricks were not Italian especially Snooki and it's obvious that they don't believe in GTL because the house is nasty w/clothes all over the place so they aren't too big on L, and Snooki is fat so there goes the G and they are already kinda dark therefore they really don't need to focus the T either. Bottom line, they are hoochies who like Italian guys;but only the dumb ones. Who would be proud to have them represent them besides someone just as Dumb, Drunk, Wild and Nasty?!

If you know your history, you would know that italians are NOT white. &As far as what race they are, it is kindof messed up bcus they made it seem like they were all italian bcus of all the italian flags and "guido juicehead" talk. So yeah thats kindof fake, but whatever.. I still love the show so... fck it lol

@Tanya Wynn: Do not categorize "most hispanics" as wanting to be Italian. All of the hispanics I know (Mexican, Cuban, Puerto Rican [I am Puerto Rican 100%], Salvadorean, Honduran, Dominican, Guatemalan) are super proud of being hispanic, and have never mentioned wanting to "be Italian". Most of US hispanics ARE PROUD of being just that. I don't want to be Italian or any other nationality except for what I was born.

Thats not even right because they aren't italian and make us Italians look bad

  • August 20, 2011 - 9:57pm Tanya Wynn

Jwoww is constantly changing her race..when the first show came out she said she was polish..i guess saying your spanish and irish is better than saying your polish and irish..Ronni is not italian either..he changed his last name after the show..its ortiz period now its hyphenated italian..the only true italian is vinny..snooki wants to be italian so bad like most hispanics but she looks like a mexican..im not italian but if these people were portraying me and i was italian i would be mad. Italians in italy are different from italians in america anyway. way different.

  • August 04, 2011 - 1:14am Anaili Fleites

oh my god I thought they were really from Italy that sucks that they aren't but its okay that they aren't because I still love the show and them they are just normal people like me and you so don't give them hate comments please.

  • May 09, 2011 - 6:24pm Stefano Graziano

Sorry but the whole discussion and the show itself are just ridiculous. First of all they are American, not Italian, just playing on the stereotype of bad taste italians, for those who think be italian is about the family well sorry, you are you are far away from the reality, as the son of americans born and raised in Spain or any other place could be considered american. I don´t know how someone could feel italian as if italian were a way of being. And last italians are white not a race itself.
