Iggy Azalea's debut performance of her new song "Beg for It" left fans begging for an explanation. The "Black Widow" rapper, 24, premiered the track with singer MØ on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, and raised some questions with the rendition.
Joined by backup dancers, Azalea opened the performance, rapping, "Pulled up looking picture-perfect, baby / High price, but I'm worth it, baby / Can't play with ya, I've been busy workin', baby / Gettin' faded in the European swervin' name / Look, describe Iggy, groundbreaking what the word is / Hit the stage, yeah, shake it like I'm nervous."
MØ took the stage midway through "Beg for It" to deliver the song's chorus. The Danish singer, 26, struggled through the performance, trepidatiously singing and dancing as she had trouble matching the backing track.
After initial reactions, the performer took to Twitter on Sunday, Oct. 26, to offer up an explanation. MØ posted an image of a handwritten letter, calling her words "the aftermath."
"I was beyond excited," she wrote of the chance to perform on SNL. "But unfortunately I had some technical issues which caused latency on my vocals, and as a result I got confused and my timing was off."
"It pains me and I'm SO sad today," MØ continued. "But life goes on… I'm not perfect never claimed to be, don't want to be, but yeah, sometimes it sucks to be an anti-hero… Big love to Iggy Azalea and her team who're nothing but supporting and amazing!"
