New Girl is about to get a visit from another adorkable star. Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is set to make a special guest appearance on the season two finale of the Fox hit sitcom, the network confirms to Us Weekly.
The star — who has had roles on CSI and in the 2010 rom-com Valentine's Day — will play an "important guest" at the wedding of Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang (Satya Bhabha). According to E!, her character is Shivrang's nuptials-interrupting ex-girlfriend.
Incidentally, the title track for Swift's 2010 album Speak Now is about a very similar scenario. In the song, she imagines standing up in the middle of her ex-boyfriend's wedding — at the "speak now or forever hold your peace" moment — and asking him to run away with her, a la the final scene of The Graduate.
The season finale will not be Swift's first appearance on the show — figuratively speaking, at least. Her most recent single, "22," was played in the background of a scene on an episode in February, when Nick (Jake Johnson) tried to comfort a heartbroken Jess (Zooey Deschanel) by dancing goofily to the track. "I just want to listen to Taylor Swift alone!" Jess lamented through her tears.
