MTV viewers weren't the only ones who refused to give up on now-married Teen Mom 2 stars, Leah and Corey Simms.

The 20-year-old certified water-distribution operator -- who has 13-month-old twins Aliannah and Aleeah with Leah -- insists in the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands now) that "he always knew we were going to get back together."

Not that it made their six-month separation any easier.

After Leah, 18, started hanging out with her ex-boyfriend Robbie weeks after their daughters' December birth, "I was crushed," Corey tells Us.

And by the time Leah made her mistake, Corey had moved on. "It was hard," Leah tells Us of watching him date other girls. "It was upsetting to me that I had to prove myself to someone who acted like he didn't care, even though I knew he did. I mean, I would be upset too, if I were Corey. He put his whole heart into his family and I pushed him away."

But despite seeing other girls, Corey says his heart was always with his now-wife.

"I never fell out of love with Leah," he tells Us. "I was with other girls, but there wasn't a day I didn't think of Leah."

Ultimately the turning point for the duo, who wed in October, was watching daughter Ali's health struggle.

"Whenever she came home from a doctor's appointment all upset, it hit me that Ali needs both of us together," says Corey. "I knew that if we had Ali in a split-up home, that wouldn't help her at all."
